Students that specialise in this discipline are able to complete GCSEs, AS and A levels, BTEC level 2 and level 3 qualifications in Music Technology and Production.
The BTEC courses include a wide range of musical training and opportunities including:
- Commercial music & song writing
- Improvisation performance
- Community music
- Events support & promotion, technical theatre
- Music technology performance & production
- DJ technology
- Singing studies
Alongside these vocational studies, students also have the option of taking practical and theoretical ABRSM and Trinity Grades. They can receive instrumental tuition in a range of instruments if required.
Music Technology offers arrangement with music software and preparing multitrack recordings in our recording studio to industry standard, along with analysis of popular music for the written paper from 1900s onwards.
Students embarking on these courses will also have access to vocational opportunities to ensure that all students have an appropriate skill set for a working musician.
As part of their Music studies, students will have the opportunity to perform in or produce several productions each year, both at LeAF Studio and at professional venues locally and further afield. Students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of workshops to suit their needs.
